BURNING MAN: FERTILITY 2.0: 2012

Another wonderful year at Burning Man has come and gone! The pack is stronger than ever with a total of six new wolves, Leith, Party Bear, Vanessa, Jenna, Leyla and Sphinx! What a wonderfully grounded and open year for these new pups and our old prowlers! The wolves were able to gift morning coffee each day at Sacred Spaces Village  with Burn After Reading Magazine (the creation of two wolves – Jessi Sprocket and Derg Crissman).

We also had a truly momentous happening when Papa Dubz Wolf proposed to Sprocket at our dear friends, Kostume Kult, during DJ EZ Almighty’s set (and an epic dust storm). Huzzah for wolf marriage!

Now that BM 2012 is officially over it’s time to A. collect ALL THE PHOTOS! and B. start planning for next year! If you’d like to join the pack and help us make new, amazing art (kinetic vehicle? fire breathing totem poles? a giant moon dome?) then give us a howl! You can email PapaWolf at phasenine@gmail.com or message us here or on the FB!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

Burning Man 2012: Sacred Spaces Village

Despite the Burning Man lottery catastrophe, Raised By Wolves has managed to secure tickets through pre-sale, lottery and theme camp ticket allotment. Most importantly, Raised By Wolves recieved three tickets through our new village, Sacred Spaces. Sacred Spaces Village is often positioned near center camp on Esplanade. You may remember them for their Chakra healing domes in 2010.

The mission of Sacred Spaces:

Sacred Spaces promotes the positive enrichment and alchemical transformation of the world known traditionally as “the Great Work.” Our tools include: the fine arts, education, spiritual practice, community activism, and social service. We see the universe as an interdependent web in which all things are mutually influential; therefore the health and well-being of all life is to be valued. In pursuit of this aim, we support improving the collective intelligence of humanity through the advancement of Science, Art, & Spirituality.

Raised By Wolves is extremely excited to become a part of this loving family!

Wolf Bike Fundraiser Update

Our wolf bike fundraiser has end and we raised $881 smackeroos! We wanted to extend a big thank you to all the amazing people who donated! We will now be able to send funds to our great welder, Joe Campbell at Frank’s Kitchen who is a truly top-notch guy and a phenomenal welder! In less than one week we will be on playa setting up our camp and prepping our work bikes for their maiden voyage. We will be sure to honor all of you with a special howl!! Don’t forget that those of you who qualify, you will be receiving your special Raised By Wolves appreciation gift after we get back from the burn! Thank you!!!!

Also if anyone is looking for a talented welder for your next big project you should totally see if Joe is available! He is seriously phenomenal! He thinks out of the box, loves to try new stuff and isn’t afraid to follow risky dreams!!

Wolf Bike Fundraiser

We are raising funds to pay our lovely volunteer welder, Joe Campbell from Franks Kitchen and to cover some funds from our really huge and awesome project The Wolf Bike Pack. There is only 36 hours left to go on our Indiegogo and every little bit really helps. If you haven’t donated to any Burning Man art this year then now is your chance! Thanks for your support and love of our art!!

The early arrival crew is getting ready for take off and will be heading out to BRC in a few days. It is finally time to debut RxW at Rites of Passage!

A short video of all the wolf bikes smushed into one enormous shape of steel.

Our wonderful wolf bike leads, Tigre and Jawa with our super helpful, amazing, welding guardian angel, Joe Campbell from Frank’s Kitchen.

Wolf Bikes!

Only two weekends left until we load all our goodies onto the PEX shipping container to send off to playa!! It’s totally crunch time! Tigre and Jawa (our two wolf bike leads) have been working non-stop to create our beautiful bikes. Once all the frames are finished each person in our camp will be able to totally trick them out with lights, fur and sound for playa. This project is really moving and its a glorious thing to watch. Frank’s Kitchen, the PEX workshop, has been completely amazing! Without the help of PEXie Joe Campbell welding these bikes would never have happened. The burner community is so magick! Thank you glorious Philadelphia burners!

!!Cat Party!!

Last night was our first ever fundraiser for Raised By Wolves–Cat Party!! Yeah, that’s right, to raise money for wolves we threw a party with a cat theme. It was an absolute roaring success! Bookspace, a burner owned venue in Philadelphia, hosted the event in their gorgeous spot. Silks were hung for our very talent wolf, Lisa and the illustrious Julia to perform daring feats of strength and beauty. All wolves rocked the bar, the door and the dance floor all night. Our resident VJ wolf, Geatan, killed it with his epic projections. We raged it till 7am and then broke it all down and got some Zs before heading to the Grimy Goblin Grotto to work on various camp projects. Completely epic, inspiring and beautiful. We can’t wait for Transformus!
